The Maximal Muscle Torques Distribution among Muscle Groups in Elite Athletes in Combat Sports
نویسندگان
چکیده
INTRODUCTION: A high level of muscle strength is regarded as a prerequisite for success in many sporting activities, especially in combat sports (Janiak & Krawczyk, 1995). Maximal muscle torque measurements under static conditions have been widely used in evaluating the strength of athletes practicing diverse sports (Buœko, 1998; Bober & Pietraszewski, 1996; Janiak & Krawczyk, 1995; Trzaskoma, Lipiñski & Janiak, 1997). The differences in strength between dominant and non-dominant legs were measured in healthy adults (Chavet, Lafortune & Gray,1997) as well as in athletes (Kramer & Balsor, 1990; Nystrom et al., 1990). The aim of this study was to determine maximal strength and its asymmetry between dominant and non-dominant legs in elite Polish male combat sports athletes.

Estimation of muscle torque in various combat sports.
The purpose of the research was to compare muscle torque of elite combat groups. Twelve taekwondo WTF athletes, twelve taekwondo ITF athletes and nine boxers participated in the study. Measurements of muscle torques were done under static conditions on a special stand which belonged to the Department of Biomechanics. The sum of muscle torque of lower right and left extremities of relative value...
متن کاملMuscle Torque and its Relation to Technique, Tactics, Sports Level and Age Group in Judo Contestants
The aim of this study was to perform a comparative analysis of maximal muscle torques at individual stages of development of athletes and to determine the relationship between muscle torques, fighting methods and the level of sports performance. The activity of 25 judo contestants during judo combats and the effectiveness of actions were evaluated. Maximum muscle torques in flexors/extensors of...
متن کاملCervical muscle strength measurement in two groups of elite Greco-Roman and free style wrestlers and a group of non-athletic subjects.
BACKGROUND Free style and Greco-Roman are two types of wrestling. [figure: see text] OBJECTIVES The aim of this study was to examine the maximal isometric strength of cervical extension (ISCE) and the maximal isometric strength of cervical flexion (ISCF) in two groups of elite wrestlers and a group of non-athletic subjects. METHODS Fourteen elite Greco-Roman wrestlers (aged 19-25 years), 16...
متن کاملStrength distribution in adolescent sportsmen practicing various sports
Measurements of the maximal muscle torques of the main muscle groups under static conditions are commonly used to estimate muscle strength in laboratory tests [3]. It has been shown that strength distribution among muscle groups (strength profile) is related to the sport technique utilized by athletes [4]. Strength profile can be also affected by training [1] [6]. Usually, strength analysis con...

Background. Soccer, combat sports and motorcycling have all been classified as mixed in terms of their metabolism predominance thus showing a common multifaceted nature of physical requirements, which include aerobic capacity, strength, endurance, power and agility. Objectives. The aim of the current study was to compare allelic and genotype frequencies of four well-known polymorphisms among a...
